Contact a Medicare representative. If you still have not received any enrollment confirmation or "Welcome" letter from your 2025 Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage plan, you should contact a Medicare representative (1-800-633-4227) to confirm your enrollment. When speaking with Medicare, please refer to your enrollment confirmation number or a copy of the enrollment application that you submitted.
If the Medicare representative cannot find your plan enrollment, ask the representative whether you qualify for a
Special Enrollment Period (SEP) allowing you to join a Medicare plan outside of the annual Open Enrollment Period (that ended December 7th) so that you can have coverage starting January 1st.
For example, you can ask the Medicare representative whether you qualify for an
exceptional Special Enrollment Period if you find that there was an error beyond your control whereby your enrollment was not properly submitted or not submitted before the close of the annual enrollment period.
Important: SEPs for extraordinary situations are granted on a case-by-case basis and depend on the facts surrounding your enrollment experience, so please be sure to provide the Medicare representative with as much information about your enrollment as possible – especially if your lack of Medicare plan coverage on January 1st could adversely affect your health - for example, you suffer from a chronic health condition and rely on the continuous care and medications provided by your Medicare plan.
