(1) If you
have received an enrollment confirmation or “Welcome” letter from your 2017 Medicare
prescription drug plan, the letter should include your: (1) Member ID number, (2)
PCN, (3) Rx BIN, and (4) Group ID (or Rx Group).
With these four numbers, you can get prescriptions
filled while awaiting the arrival of your new Member ID card.
(2) If you cannot find this information, you can telephone your plan’s Member Services
department and ask a representative for these four numbers that will identify your
2017 Medicare plan coverage.
We have the
telephone number for most Member Service departments online, just click on the plan’s
name using our
Medicare Advantage Plan Finder (enter your ZIP) or
Medicare Part D Plan Finder (choose your State).
(3) If you are at your pharmacy and do not have your 2017 Member ID card, please ask
your pharmacist to contact your Medicare prescription drug plan to obtain your Member
number and plan information. Your pharmacist will need your
Medicare claim number (on your red, white, and blue Medicare card) and the name
of your 2017 Medicare prescription drug plan.
(4) If you cannot remember the name of your Medicare plan, you can telephone a Medicare
representative at 1-800-633-4227 and they can look up the name of your chosen 2017
Medicare plan.
You can then ask for the Member Services telephone number, contact the plan, have a new Member ID sent, and obtain the four numbers you need to receive Medicare Part D plan coverage.
