More on the Q1Medicare.com Long-Term Care (LTC) Drug Tool
Our Q1Medicare Long-Term Care (LTC) Drug search tool is designed to help long-term care admissions and nursing staff assist residents with choosing a Medicare prescription drug plan, but is available to all Q1Medicare.com site users. The LTC drug tool cross-references over 160 of the most popular brand-name and generic medications used by LTC facilities with the available Medicare Part D prescription drug plans qualifying for the low-income subsidy $0 premium and institutional Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans (SNPs).
Depending on the service area, the number of Medicare plans meeting either of these criteria can range from three to over 20 plans.
To begin using the LTC drug tool, you can simply select your state to get an overview of drug coverage for all qualifying Medicare Part D plans and institutional Special Needs Plans in your state. Drug usage management restrictions, such as quantity limits or step therapy requirements are shown with text and color-coding for each prescription drug and Medicare plan combination.
Users can then check the boxes next to their medications and click to filter out medications unimportant to them. The LTC charts are interactive with direct links to each Medicare Part D prescription drug plan’s complete online formulary, as well as plan features and plan contact information. By clicking on the drug names in the chart, users can also see a specific drug’s detailed coverage information for all Medicare plans in the chosen service area.
The long-term care drug plan overviews can be found directly at Q1Medicare.com/LTC or a state abbreviation can be added to this URL to go directly to that service area. For example, the LTC drug tool for Florida can be found at: Q1Medicare.com/LTC/FL.
