During the 2010 Medicare plan year, my Medicare Part D plan did not cover one of my more expensive medications. The total cost of the medication was never reported to Medicare or my Part D plan. Can I still apply and receive the $250 rebate?

Complete Question: During the 2010 Medicare plan year, my Medicare Part D plan did not cover one of my more expensive medications and I had to purchase it myself. The total cost of the medication was way over the Donut Hole limit, but it was never reported to Medicare or my Part D plan. Is there any way that I can still apply and receive this $250 rebate?
Probably not. The 2010 $250 Donut Hole rebate checks were issued automatically by Medicare when the Medicare beneficiary reached the 2010 Donut Hole portion of their Medicare Part D plan. Unfortunately, only formulary medications were counted toward reaching the 2010 Donut Hole, so non-formulary drug purchases did not count toward triggering the $250 rebate check.
