If you have limited income and resources, you may qualify for
extra help paying your Medicare drug plan costs. If you qualify, you will get help paying for your Medicare drug plan’s monthly
premium,
deductible, and
copayments. The amount of extra help you get is based on your income and resources. You have to join a Medicare drug plan to get extra help paying your drug costs. The charts on pages 20 and 22 (
Ways you may qualify for extra help) show what you would pay with extra help from Medicare based on your income and resources.

Note: The U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands provide help for their residents with their Medicare drug costs. In general, this help is for residents in these areas who qualify for
