I have a Medicare Health Plan without prescription drug coverage
If you have a
Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO) or another Medicare Health Plan that doesn’t include prescription drug coverage, you may want to consider other ways to get Medicare prescription drug coverage.
- Check with your current Medicare Advantage Plan to see if it offers a Medicare prescription drug option. If so, you can switch to that option.
- If your current plan doesn’t offer Medicare prescription drug coverage, you can switch to another Medicare Health Plan in your area that offers it.
- If your current plan doesn’t offer Medicare prescription drug coverage, you can switch to the Original Medicare Plan and join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.
If you stay in your current plan that isn’t offering drug coverage and you don’t join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan or have other
creditable prescription drug coverage, you may have to pay a late enrollment
penalty if you want Medicare prescription drug coverage later.
