Medicare.gov - Select Current Plan
After entering your basic coverage and financial extra-help status, the Medicare Plan Finder may ask for a little more detail. The example screen shown below is actually an intermediate screen for a user who has selected one of the Medicare plan coverage options. in this case, the user is enrolled in a Medicare Health Plan. The Medicare Plan Finder is asking the name of the Medicare Advantage (or Medicare Health plan).
In this example, the ZIP Code we used was 44224 (associated with Stow, Ohio) which is located in Summit County (not Portage County). A similar page would have been shown if we had chosen that we had Medicare prescription drug coverage.
Because of the number of Medicare Advantage plans available in this county, the list of Medicare plans in this example screen is relatively long. Please note that at the time we made this screen-shot, the list of plans generated by the plan finder was not sorted or grouped alphabetically or by Contract ID - Plan ID. This means that you needed to scroll up and down the page and hunt to find your current plan. At the bottom of the page is also the option to choose that you do not know your plan’s name or that your Medicare plan is not on the long list. We hope that at some point Medicare will change this screen and sort the plans alphabetically.
