Employer drug coverage · updated Jul 14, 2023

Employer or Union Retiree or health care plans, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is defined as:

Health plans that give health coverage to employees, former employees, and their families. These plans are offered to people through their (or a spouse’s) current or former employer or employee organization.

Remember that not all employer or union health plans provide "creditable" prescription drug coverage and you can read more about this in our Frequently Asked Questions: "What is the difference between creditable and non-creditable Employer Retiree Drug Coverage?"
