What is the meaning behind Cobrands or Cobranding Medicare Part D Plans?

Choosing a Medicare plan · updated Jun 25, 2024

The  Cobrand or Cobranding, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is defined as:

Refers to the partner relationships established between Medicare Prescription Drug Plans and other organizations. Some drug plans enter into agreements with other organizations to help market their drug plans. These relationships are between the drug plan and the partner organizations and are outside of the contract with Medicare.

As an example, you can see the screen below showing several 2024 Medicare Part D plans offered in Florida (https://PDP-Finder.com/FL) where some plans are offered with (or cobranded with) other companies or organizations.

The cobranded Medicare Part D plans may offer additional cost-savings for plan members who use a partner pharmacy.
