Will I be able to use my drug store drug discount card with a Medicare drug plan?

Drug Discount cards · updated Apr 20, 2024

Yes, you can use a drug store discount program even though you enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan, but you probably cannot use the discount with your Medicare Part D plan coverage.

Drug stores issuing the drug discount card will determine what type of discount will be applied to the drug.

Generally, drug store discount cards provide a discount on the retail price of the drug not otherwise covered by a patient's insurance.

Since people with Medicare will be receiving coverage for prescription drugs, further discounts may not apply.
