Medicare beneficiaries seeking a bargain may notice that for the 2013 Medicare Part D plan year the AARP MedicareRx Saver Plus plan will have the lowest monthly premiums in most states - whereas in 2012 the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP) was the lowest costing plan across the country and, not unexpectedly, one of the most popular 2012 Medicare Part D plans.
The 2013 Medicare Part D plan premiums will range from the low of $15.00 (AARP MedicareRx Saver Plus (PDP) in most states) to the highest premium of $165.40 (BlueRx Enhanced (PDP) in DC, Delaware, and Maryland).
The range of 2013 monthly Medicare Part D premiums can be compared to the 2012 premium range from a low monthly premium of $15.10 (2012 Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP)) to the highest 2012 monthly premium of $131.80 (2012 BlueRx Enhanced (PDP) in DC, Delaware, and Maryland).
